Your Business Has A Soul

 

Your business is a living, breathing entity.  And as a living, breathing entity, it has a soul (just like you and I do).

But it is easy to overlook that as you go through the daily grind of making a living.  After all, it’s “just a job”, right?  But it’s not “just a job” when you are an entrepreneur – it becomes an extension of you, almost like a child.

You birth it, feed it, nourish it, care for it and tend to the various (and changing) needs as they arise.  You put YOU into it.  In time, you and your business become ONE.

One living, breathing entity.

I’ve been in business for a long time and I’ve watched my own business evolve.  It’s grown up in ways I never imagined.  It’s taken care of me and I’ve taken care of it. We are partners, co-creating a magnificent reality as we work to transform lives.

We are ONE.

I AM my business.  Which means that ultimately my business reflects my soul.  And as I grow and evolve, that shows up in my business.

I was thinking about this a lot lately and drawing cards to contemplate the soul of my business.  I pulled DEATH.

 

Interesting.  Death as the soul of my business?  At first, I thought that was rather creepy.  But after meditating on this card, it started to make sense.  Death is about transformation, clearing the weeds, and creating dynamic change.  As a tarot reader, I am an AGENT OF CHANGE.  My business is about helping people to find direction and transform their lives from victim to co-conspirators with the universe.  It’s about changing destiny through awareness.

What is the soul of your business?  How are you affecting others?  Grab your tarot for this exercise:

Separate the Major Arcana from the deck.  Now shuffle the Majors only and concentrate on the soul of your business. When you feel ready, put the cards face down and randomly choose one.  Don’t over think this – just pick one that “feels right”.

Reflect on what that card means to you.  Look closely at the images. What jumps out?  What does that say to you in regards to your business?  How do you live that card every day at work?
