Which tarot cards indicate celebration?
Three of Cups – the Three of Cups is the first card that always comes to my mind when I think celebration. The image of the three women dancing and toasting beautifully illustrates the feeling of fun and merriment at some event. This could represent a girl’s night out, a baby shower, a wedding, drinks with coworkers, or celebrating an announcement. Whatever the figures are celebrating, you know that they are having a blast. My girls like to party all the time.
Four of Wands – the two figures in the Four of Wands raise bouquets over their head as if to say “welcome!” With garlands and ribbons decking the four wands, the energy here is festive. Whenever this card shows up in a reading, it’s always a happy omen.
Six of Wands – with a wreath in his head and another on his wand, this figure is moving triumphantly forward with supporters all around him. This represents a victory celebration. This could be a big win, a triumph, a conquest, a gala that follows an important turning point. Whatever is being celebrated, it’s well earned. Note: when I first became acquainted with tarot, I viewed this card as some sort of jockey winning a race. I still use the term “stepping into the winner’s circle” to describe this card.
Ten of Cups – you can feel the joy in this card. The Ten of Cups is the happy ending. It can indicate a wedding, a homecoming, a reunion, or a family gathering of sorts.
Ten of Pentacles – like the Ten of Cups, the Ten of Pentacles also has a family theme to it. This is one of my favorite cards to see during the holiday season because it often indicates an abundant + festive holiday with the whole family in attendance. The Ten of Pentacles can be any sort of gathering though – from a birthday celebration to a wedding or even a garden party.
The Hierophant – while this card may seem somber, I’ve often viewed this as a formal, religious celebration such as a church wedding or a baptism.
The World – the World symbolizes completion and the successful ending of a journey. I often interpret this as a “graduation” to the next level. Think: graduation party.
