Dates to watch out for.
Retrogrades galore.
A sweet Jupiter Pluto aspect.
Horoscopes and tarot cards (oh my!).
2018 is coming and I’ve got your astro-back with my Ultra-Deluxe Superfly Astrology Guide for the year ahead.
Confession: I’m a bit of a control freak. I like to know what’s coming so that I can keep surprises in my life to a minimum (the only kind of surprises I like are the gift certificate for a massage kind). Knowing what’s up with the cosmos helps me to glide through the year with a minimum of drama and a whole lotta Zen.
I’ve created this mini-Astro Guide to give you the high fives and red flags you need to know so that you can be alert to the times when you need to amp up your awesome or kick back and wait it out.
How to use this astrology guide
Remember, the planetary action shows tendencies and potentials for opportunity… or problems. Awareness of what’s going on in the stars will give you an astro-edge because when you know what’s up, you can strategize how to work that energy to your advantage (even if the stars are grouchy!). Mark down the dates of caution and action in your calendar. Read your yearly scope + special tarot card wisdom to see the bigger picture for your sign. (You may also want to read the forecast for your rising sign as well.) Then: make 2018 your BFF. Bada bing!
Need more help? I have a list of trusted astrologers at the end of this post who will be more than happy to give you a full-on personalized forecast (a personal report will give you major details so that you can be well-armed).
Read on, astro-playas:
Unlike 2017, this year, Mercury will only turn retrograde three times. WHEW. If you’re Mercury ruled like me, you’ll be breathing a big sigh of relief! In 2018, Mercury will be going retrograde in the Fire signs – which means you’ll want to cool your jets during the periods below. Fire signs love action ’n passion. During retrogrades, that energy can become distorted – leading to anger, impulse, and passion gone awry. Ground ’n center before making moves and you’ll avoid burning things to a crisp.
Also keep in mind the usual advice: when Mercury goes retrograde, communication, travel and technology can be affected. But it doesn’t need to be a hawt mess! Best course of action: back up your computer, give yourself extra time to get where you need to go, think before you speak, avoid signing contracts or buying new technology if you can, and be patient. (Check out my detailed post for more information: How To Have A Happy and Productive Mercury Retrograde.)
Mercury Retrograde dates:
March 22 – April 15, 2018 in Aries
July 26 – August 18, 2018 in Leo
November 16 – December 6 in Sagittarius, retrogrades into Scorpio
2018 has an INTENSE Venus retrograde. Gulp.
Venus will turn retrograde for a few weeks late in the year. October 5th through November 16th, to be exact. You might be wondering what that means. Venus rules matters of the heart, art, commerce, and beauty. Because retrograde favors inward action rather than outward, this period is best spent reflecting on your relationships. How are you expressing your passion (Scorpio)? Are you giving as well as you are receiving (Libra)? Ask those questions.
This retrograde begins in passionate Scorpio and moves into romantic Libra. Keep in mind that Venus doesn’t dig hanging out in Scorpio. It’s too intense and retrograde, this could bring things to a fiery head. If your relationship has been struggling, this period could bring a loud break-up. Intimacy issues or lust gone mad could lead to decisions that could sabotage even the most stoic of partnerships. Old flames may resurface, wanting a second chance (note: if they treated you like a booty call in the past, don’t expect anything different, yo). You’ll want to scrutinize your relationships closely – and be careful not to make any decisions in the heat of the moment. When Venus moves into Libra, it will ease up this tension and make way for working things out. But do know: it’s going to require some give-and-take. Venus in Libra likes fairness. Avoid selfishness and you may just find a happy middle that improves even the shakiest relationships. When Venus turns direct on November 16th, more progress can be made if you’ve taken the time to absorb the lessons of the last few weeks.
Venus retrograde is NOT favorable for starting new relationships or getting married. I would recommend waiting until it goes direct. Remember, Venus in Scorpio is all about the sex type thing, and Libra can tend to be so focused on wanting a relationship that they’ll settle – once this retrograde is over, you might be looking at the person next to you and thinking “what the eff did I just say yes to?”(Psst be especially wary of online love relationships that look too good to be true during this period. You don’t want to get Catfished!) This period is also not wise for buying luxury items or getting plastic surgery. If you’re thinking of tweaking your nose, wait until this transit passes.
Venus Retrograde dates:
10/5/2018 Venus turns retrograde in Scorpio, retrogrades into Libra on October 31st – turns direct on 11/16/2018
Mars Retrograde is comin, yo.
Mars will be retrograde in funky Aquarius from June 26th through August 27th. This cycle is NOT good for launching anything new. If you are thinking of opening a business, it would be wise to avoid these dates. Same thing if you are thinking about launching a new product. If you can move around the dates, you’ll be glad that you did. Although Mars retrograde doesn’t have the tech drama that Mercury retrograde does, it can still wreak havoc on businesses. Mars retrograde is also not good for surgery of any type. If you must get one during this period, be sure that you carve out plenty of time for recuperation.
Mars retrograde can also create issues around assertiveness. It may be harder for you to stand in your power at this time – especially amongst groups. That’s because Aquarius favors the collective and with Mars retrograde in this sign, groups could be problematic. Trying to be heard above the group dynamics will not be easy. Power plays may be happening with groups of friends or organizations. When Mars retrogrades back into Capricorn on August 13th, issues around authority and aggression could reach a pinnacle. This could be a pivotal moment where someone snatches power – or gets defeated. Whether this will be done through fair or unfair means remains to be seen. Best plan of action: stay out of bullshit situations unless you are prepared to lead with vigor.
Mars Retrograde dates:
6/26/2018 Mars turns retrograde in Aquarius, retrogrades into Capricorn on August 13th – turns direct on August 27th.
Eclipses bear mentioning because they can signal major changes afoot. You’ll need to check your chart to see where these changes might take place (if you don’t have a copy of your chart, you can get one free at alabe.com).

Full Moons are about letting go. Cut out that toxic lover, quit that draining job, give up your three pack a day cigarette habit, and release anything that is old, outworn, or annoying (that crappy old sweater taking up space in your closet – begone!)

Jupiter sextiles Pluto
Last year, Jupiter was moving through a series of tough aspects with transformative Pluto. This created an imbalanced energy between peace and destruction. Justice and power were huge themes. In 2018, things will start to improve.
Instead of the intense, volatile vibe of 2018, this transit means that it will be easier to expand and transform. Tensions ease – or situations finally come to a resolution. Issues around power may still be on the table but instead of forcefulness, this could be a productive time where power is used wisely. The energy favors revolution + evolution.
On the world’s stage, this is a good thing to see. Good leaders can rise up – and topple those who wield their authority in a destructive way. Justice may happen at long last for anyone who has been operating in the dark. This could be a time of war and regeneration too. Remember: while this transit is positive, Jupiter is in Scorpio – together with Pluto in Capricorn, it also favors breaking things down constructively so that rebuilding can begin in earnest.
Dates when this transit will be exact:
January 16
March 14
September 12
This aspect will be especially good for Scorpios, Pisces, Cancers, Tauruses, Virgos, and Capricorns.
Outer planets
Most of the outer planets will remain in the signs they’ve been in for a while. Remember: the outer planets take longer to move through a sign! Both Jupiter and Uranus will be making a move this year.
At the beginning of 2018 we have:
Jupiter in Scorpio – Jupiter expands wherever it lands (say that ten times fast!) and in watery Scorpio, we can go super deep – and to extremes. This transit won’t necessarily be an easy one but it won’t be dull either.
This period is favorable for digging down and discovering your innermost desires. It’s also ideal for exploring sexuality and for any type of shadow work. Search your soul, hang out with your shadow, play with the dark side. Delve into taboo subjects and go where you’ve never dared go before. Seek intimacy, not superficiality. Examine your feelings around sex, death, power, and transformation.
Jupiter in Scorpio also says: go all in. That means putting your whole self into your passions, whether that be your work, art, or love.
Keep in mind that Scorpio is not known for subtlety. In expansive Jupiter, this can bring out extremes. Which could be messy if not held in check. For example, overindulgence could be a problem during this transit. In relationships, this could also lead to sexual addiction or issues around control and power. Also, extreme points of view coupled with force can produce a toxic political environment. We’ll certainly want to keep an eye on the world’s stage this year because this transit, coupled with Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn, promises some intense, possibly volatile, change ahead.
The best advice for dealing with Jupiter in Scorpio: Go buck wild a few times. Indulge. Just remember to real it back in from time to time.
Jupiter will be in Scorpio until November 8, 2018. It will be retrograde from March 9th through July 10th. This retrograde will be especially good for soul searching and introspection. It’s also a good time for confronting the dark stuff happening in the world.
Saturn in Capricorn – This transit begins in December 2017. Let me start out by saying: Saturn adores being in Capricorn. That’s because Saturn rules Capricorn. Here, it can express it’s energy the best. Saturn loves structure – and no sign is more structured than Capricorn. This transit favors ambition, building, and power. Which means: if you’re focusing your energy on your career, you’re going to see some big time growth. Set big goals and then commit to them. UPLEVEL. Go for the gold! Saturn in Capricorn favors the movers and the shakers – be one and you’ll gather steam in anything you attempt. This transit is not for the lazy or for those looking for a short cut. Instead, it’s best for those who are dedicated and willing to be patient as they climb. The top is reachable but not without your full commitment to the work needed to get there.
A quote that best sums up this transit comes straight from Game of Thrones (my favorite show!): ”Chaos isn’t a pit, chaos is a ladder. Many who try to climb it fail and never get to try again. The fall breaks them. And some are give a chance to climb but they refuse. The cling to the realm or the gods, or love. Illusions. Only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is.” – Littlefinger
The political stage will be most interesting with Saturn in Capricorn, especially because Pluto is also hanging out in Capricorn. Pluto is all about tearing things down and transformation. Saturn brings the muscle to get the work done. It’s practical like that. This could be a productive time of building new structures that will better support humanity. For example, reforming laws, infrastructure, roads – all of that would be a great thing to focus on during this transit. Also, caring for the most vulnerable would be excellent because Saturn in Capricorn has that paternal vibe to it.
BUT Saturn in Capricorn can also bring out power struggles between those who want to use their power for good – and those who want to cling to the systems of old that harmed many. One thing is for sure: the old way is dying. How that shakes out will be interesting as these Capricorn transits move forth.
Saturn will be retrograde from March 9th through September 6th. This is a strong period for doing all the behind-the-scenes work. Restructure, review, renew. In politics, I think this will be a karmic period where some dues are bound to get paid.
Uranus in Aries + Taurus – The planet of revolution in Taurus, the sign that rules money, promises to bring about a financial revolution of sorts. If you’re looking for a steady, calm economy, good luck with that. Instead, this transit brings about major transformation – not just globally but also on a personal level. This promises to be a volatile and unpredictable time but for those who are conscious, it may be a time to examine how free we really are when it comes to money.
For example, are you doing work solely for the dollar? Are you knee-deep in debt because you’re trying to keep up with the Joneses – or because you’ve made some poor decisions in the past? Are you obsessed with gathering possessions and power – at the expense of others? Uranus in Taurus will make you examine all of this and more. This period will demand that you look at your relationship with money – and evolve it. If you are unwilling to do so, Uranus may throw a few wrenches in the system that may force you to rethink how you’re handling it or making it.
What’s interesting about this transit is that it’s also coinciding with Saturn and Pluto both in conservative Capricorn. I think we’re going to see a massive shift in banking, financial institutions, and government. New money technology and the rise of alternate money such as the bitcoin is possible. Corporations and politicians could face an intense backlash under this transit if they put profits before people. The last time this transit happened was during the 30’s and 40’s – the time of the Second World War and the Great Depression. Remember: astrology shows that history often repeats.
My advice for this transit: handle your money with care. Put some aside for a rainy day. Pay off your debts if possible. If you are conflicted with your relationship with money, consider reading The Art Of Money by Bari Tessler – an excellent book that will help you transform your financial picture. This is the ideal book for this transit.
Uranus is officially in the sign of Taurus on May 15th. Before then, it’s hanging out in firebrand Aries, ideal for blazing trails in science, technology, and social reform.
Uranus will be retrograde from August 7th 2018 through January 6 2019. During that time, it will retrograde back into Aries (November 6th 2018) and will remain so until it finally leaves Aries for good on March 6th 2019. We’ll be moving back and forth between technology and progress – and financial upheaval. This will be a restless time in the world so you can be sure that it will be a noisy period on Wall Street and Main Street.
Neptune in Pisces – Neptune is the ruling planet of Pisces, so it’s pretty happy here. This period is fantastic for artists, musicians, and mystics. Whether you’re navel gazing or tuning in and turning out, be sure to keep your feet firmly planted on the ground. This dreamy transit can produce escapism so watch out for spaciness, drug/alcohol abuse, or other clever ways of avoiding responsibilities and other unpleasant things.
Neptune is retrograde from June 18th through November 25th, a perfect time for spiritual retreats, intuition work, and any sort of mystical groove. Watch out for a tendency towards escapism. Stay grounded.
Pluto in Capricorn – Pluto has been in Capricorn for a number of years and it’s got a few more to go. Pluto is the planet of transformation and Capricorn represents the status quo, the old way. This transit is perfect for revolution – tearing down the old structures to make way for the new. The last time we had this transit was during the American Revolution! Watch politics carefully the next few years. The times they are ‘a changing.
Pluto will be retrograde from April 22nd through October 1st. This retrograde is perfect for examining your own outdated beliefs and thought patterns. Where do you need to evolve? Where are you stuck in the old? Clear that energy and empower yourself by creating new thought forms that support the way you want to show up in the new world that is developing right underneath your nose.
Jupiter changes signs
On November 8th, lucky Jupiter is heading into the sign it rules, Sagittarius. This signals a year of cultural awareness, travel, faith, and opportunities to broaden our minds. Instead of thinking of only ourselves, it’s time to see how the other half lives. Whether you do that through physical travel or study doesn’t matter. What matters now is that we move away from dogmatic, narrow minded thinking and embrace the bigger picture. “We’re all in this together” might be Jupiter in Sag’s mantra. It’s important to act like you know by being inclusive and tolerant.
Jupiter in Sagittarius is superb for philosophy, higher learning, teaching, sports, wanderlust, publishing, or understanding other cultures. It’s a positive, “can do” placement, which means we all might be finding a little faith in the world…or each other, no matter what.
This transit can bring reckless energy, especially when it comes to gambling. I would advise anyone to keep risky gambling in check during this transit, especially with Uranus in Taurus. Fortunes could be lost if you’re overzealous at the slot machine.
Mark November 26th on your calendar: Jupiter will be conjunct with the Sun, making this a “lucky day” for all. It’s auspicious as can be. Make your big plans, set your intentions, launch your new thing, and take risks. The Universe has your back now!
Uranus changes signs
Uranus will officially move into Taurus on May 15th. Read my synopsis above the section on Uranus in Aries + Taurus.

Now – on to some mini 2018 personal-scopes with tarot advice!
Aries: This is a strong year for getting a handle on your finances, dear Aries. With Jupiter moving through your 8th house until November 8th, you’ll want to take a good, hard look at how you’re managing your resources…or not. Jupiter in the 8th can bring unexpected gain through your partner’s income, insurance, taxes, lawsuit, or an inheritance. You’ll also have good luck with loans, so if you need to apply for one, you should be able to get it. You can accumulate wealth if you are willing to manage your money at this time. Jupiter can often bring about excess – you’ll want to curb overspending as much as you can. It’s perfectly fine to share your resources, but don’t go overboard. This transit is also pretty sweet for your sex life. If that’s been dull, 2018 could up the heat. Money matters are amplified when rebellious Uranus moves into your money sector on May 15th, where it’s going to stay for a long stretch. This can bring disruptions to your financial life. This is why you don’t want to press your luck. What you gain can be easily lost if you are careless. Some risk is okay, but if money feels uncertain, pull back. If you make money in an unusual way, you could see a lot more cheddar coming your way. Your ruling planet, Mars, will be retrograde on June 26th through August 27th, in your social sector. This could bring disagreements with friends or groups. If you want to get anything done during this period, you’ll need to find a way to inspire cooperation. 2018 could be a stellar year for your career. With Saturn holding court in your 10th house of honors and recognition alongside powerhouse Pluto, this could be a defining year for you. You may find a new position, take on greater responsibility, or get some long overdue accolades. You can win – and win big. Lead where you can, and be ready to up your game whenever possible. It will pay off. Jupiter will move into your travel zone on November 8th, which will give you a year to indulge in your wanderlust. Dust off your passport, and begin putting together your plans to explore the world. See the world + conquer it too. Sounds like a plan!
The Empress: what you nurture can grow. Take care of the things that matter, and you will flourish.
Taurus: This could be a stunning year for relationships, dear Taurus. Expansive Jupiter will grace your 7th house, blessing you with the best partnerships – or giving you the ability to fix the ones that seem to be lackluster. If you’re single, you can attract all sorts of admirers. Already partnered? You can expand that lovin’ feeling. Business partnerships can also benefit you during this transit. In general, all relationships have the ability to be a positive force in your life. Mantra: don’t go it alone. Pay close attention to May 15th. Uranus will move into your sign on that day – and it’s going to hang on for years. Uranus favors change and freedom. This is your time to express yourself in new ways. Take risks where you can and stand up for what you believe in. You may feel as if you are shedding the old you and going through a personal revolution as this transit continues. You ARE. Change is favored now – even with your personal style. If you’re still wearing that same ‘do that you’ve had since the 90’s, you can update it. Preferably with something fashion forward! Watch out for impulse or rebelling for the sake of rebelling. Nothing wrong with wanting to make waves, but you don’t need to piss off everyone else in the process. Your ruling planet, Venus, will be retrograde from October 5th through November 16th, a period that could bring some issues with your love life to a head. If there are problems, you can address them now. For some, this could be a make-it-or-break it cycle. Or break-up-and-make-up. Do your best to consider the other’s point of view, and you can max this time out. Saturn in your 9th house all year may curtail your optimism or your ability to travel. It may be harder for you to go where you want when you want due to responsibilities. Or you may find yourself feeling like you’re losing your faith in the world at time (hint: turn off the damn news). This Saturn transit is excellent for going back to school. You can take on a heavy school load at this time and may see great advancement possibilities through higher education. Fortunate Jupiter will sprint into your 8th house on November 8th, signaling a year of financial gain and more opportunities for sex. As you begin heading into 2019, you’re getting paid…and laid! Woot!
Nine of Cups: you can get what you want. Just be sure you’re clear on what you’re asking for.
Gemini: 2018 will be a banner year for your work, dear Gemini. Jupiter is hanging out in your 6th house for much of the year, which means you may be getting more of the killer assignments you’ve been craving, a bigger client base, or a better job. More importantly, you’re going to love what you’re doing. Improvements in your working environment will make you a much happier camper than you’ve been in a long time. Also, this transit is stellar for health. You may be full of energy or finally seeing some relief for a health issue. You will need to keep an eye on your waistline though, because Jupiter often expands the body during this transit. Strict Saturn will be holding strong in your 8th house all year long. This could bring increased responsibilities with money, joint finances, taxes, insurance, or goods of the dead. What does that mean? It means you need to handle your cashola with great care. Don’t take foolish risks. Manage that green stuff like a boss. Pay your damn taxes on time. You may be entrusted to handle the financial affairs of someone who passes on. Be fair and honor their wishes. Simple as that. On May 15th, Uranus will be entering your 12th house, giving you the ability to change your unconscious thinking or habits. Hang ups be gone! Meditation or the development of your intuitive faculties is highly recommended during this transit, which will be lasting for years. Because the 12th house symbolizes things that are hidden, this could also be a time when you are better able to understand your secret motivations – or some element of your private life could become public knowledge. This is also the house of karmic stuff, which may find you paying off a karmic debt or letting go of some old, outworn thing (ex: that ex from twenty years ago) once and for all. Lucky Jupiter will head into your 7th house on November 8th, marking a yearlong happy period for all things relationship oriented. You may strengthen a current relationship, make a commitment, connect with a fabulous biz partner, or meet the one! Lots of benefits will come through others – so play nice and see where that gets ya in 2019! (Psst…it will get you far.)
Five of Swords: do the right thing, even if no one is watching. Even if you’re tempted to do something dishonest, stop yourself. You’re better than that.
Cancer: If you’re looking for true love or thinking of expanding your family this year, you’re in luck, dear Cancer! That’s because mighty Jupiter is whizzing through your 5th house, the sector that rules romance and pregnancy. If you’re single, this is your year to mingle hard. Get that online profile updated and cast your net wide! In a relationship? It might be time to put a ring on it or make it official in some other way. (Facebook official?) If you’re trying to conceive a baby, you may see that wish come to pass. Of course, if you’re not planning on that, you might want to be a bit careful, yo. Somber Saturn will be hanging out in your 7th house, which indicates increased responsibility in relationships. This amplifies that energy around commitment and baby-making. It also indicates a period where you need to be mindful about how you relate to others. Consider everybody’s needs, not just your own for the win. Professional partnerships are favored now, but do keep in mind that Saturn can bring issues so do approach any biz relationships with care. Make sure you vet your partners thoroughly if you want to avoid drama later on. On May 15th, funky Uranus heads into your social sector, where it will sit for many years. This is GREAT. You’re about to get some interesting new folks coming into your life. New friendships with unusual people will broaden your horizons and add some spice to your social life. At times, your pals will prove to be unreliable. Let those flaky types go and take nothing personally. You may also be drawn to humanitarian causes or group activities that revolve around social reform. If you’ve ever wanted to change the world, this could be your chance to get involved in something greater! A Solar Eclipse on July 12th in your sign could be the right time to assert yourself or put your needs first. If you’ve been too busy worrying about everyone else, this is a strong day for making your needs known. November puts the emphasis on your health and work life when fortunate Jupiter heads into your 6th house. This marks a twelve-month period of improved health and work conditions. You may find yourself getting fitter and more successful as 2019 unfolds!
The Sun: life is good. Take time to celebrate the abundance you’ve been given. There’s more to come.
Leo: This year could be fantastic for all matters around the domestic scene, dear Leo. That’s because bountiful Jupiter is zipping through your 4th house, which rules the home and family. If you’ve been thinking about buying property or feathering your nest, have at it. You can also improve relationships with your loved ones. If you’ve been on the outs with anyone, real healing can begin in earnest. Your home may be the center of family gatherings, and it’s possible that you may be adding a new member to your family circle. Your work world is going to be demanding all year long. With serious Saturn in your 6th house, it’s time to knuckle down if you’re going to achieve those goals. Play time will come later. For now, you must commit to your grind until every last detail has been handled. Saturn in the 6th also brings the discipline for health matters. If you’ve been wanting to kick a habit or start that exercise routine, you’ve got a green light. A little perseverance now could pay off with better health or a trimmer physique! On January 31st, a Lunar Eclipse in your sign signals the right time to reinvent yourself. A new look or a rebrand could push you into the public eye in a favorable way. May 15th finds rebel Uranus entering your 10th house of career. This marks a long period where the direction of your career could change in a significant way. You may start a new business or could get involved in an unusual career that could be mentally stimulating. This transit is especially good for tech careers or anything that requires innovative thinking. One caveat: it may make you a lot mouthier with authority figures. If you’re working for the man, this could prove to be problematic. It could even lead to job loss. August 11th brings another eclipse in your sign. This is a Solar Eclipse – what are you ready to shed to make way for the new? Also, are you being honest with others about what you need? You’ll want to do that if you wish to see your relationships thrive. Jupiter will head into your true love sector on November 8th, creating the right energy for love to enter your life – or for baby making. Maybe both. Get ready to fill that renovated nest with lots of love!
Six of Cups: the seeds you planted are ready to bloom. Love is in the air, and your home is full of peace. Life is ever-so-sweet.
Virgo: With optimistic Jupiter gracing your communication zone, you’re going to be full of good cheer all year long, dear Virgo. This is a happy transit, one that promises to lighten your mood significantly. It’s also a totally killer period for writing a book, spreading a message, PR, and short trips. You could be hobnobbing around the world with interesting peeps and dazzling them with your brilliance. Thought leader? I think so! This year also finds hard taskmaster Saturn hanging around in your 5th house. If you’ve looking for serious love – or trying to fix a relationship gone stale, you can make magic happen. The key is to work at it. Saturn here can also bring about a commitment or a baby. If you’re thinking about saying “I do” or plotting out conception dates, go for it! Settling down looks good on you. Innovative Uranus moves into your 9th house on May 15th. This could spark an interest in the occult or astrology. If you’ve ever wanted to study the stars in depth, the years ahead are a big hell yeah to that. This transit is also quite nice for higher education and traveling to parts unknown. Friendships with people who have unusual philosophical beliefs or who come from distant places add mental stimulation to your life. There won’t be much time for boredom in your multi-cultural, mystical world! Oh, and if you’re thinking about writing on metaphysical subjects, this transit totally favors that. Who knows? Maybe you’ll find yourself writing cool astrology columns for some hot online spot! If you’re thinking about buying property or moving into bigger digs, November 8th is the right time to get moving on that. Jupiter will enter your 4th house at that time, giving you a full year to get your domestic life set up like a rock star! You’ll be a lucky duck with all matters home-related, plus your family life will be better than ever. If you want to expand that family, the stars say yes, please.
Ten of Cups: your home is your castle, and your family is your legacy. Treat them both with the love they deserve. You’re getting your happily ever after soon.
Libra: You’re in the money this year, dear Libra. With fortunate Jupiter sitting pretty in your 2nd house, you can be sure that the money is going to be flowing in your direction. How you manage that goodness is up to you, but if you’re wise, you’ll be a good steward to your resources. Here’s why: unpredictable Uranus is also cruising into your 8th house on May 15th. The 8th house rules taxes, insurance, joint finances, and loans. While Jupiter may bless you with lots more money, Uranus could bring some unexpected surprises. Take good care that you don’t squander your gains. Instead, do what you can to manage your dough. Uranus in the 8th can bring opportunities for exciting erotic adventures. If you’ve been looking for a new thrill, you can explore your kink in full. Just remember the safe word when Venus goes retrograde from October 5th through November 16th. This period could bring relationship issues to the forefront. Deal with them as gracefully as possible and listen as well as you talk. Austere Saturn will be hanging tough in your domestic sector this year, which could bring a ton o’ responsibility around the home. It’s a good transit for home improvement projects. You can create the home of your dreams or finally fix those nagging issues once and for all. It’s also possible that you could become saddled with the care of a family member. If you need to take on the responsibility of a loved one, make sure that you have help in place so you don’t have to do it all by yourself. November 8th brings Jupiter into your 3rd house of communication. This is a lovely transit for expressing yourself. Write that memoir, start that blog, launch an inspiring PR campaign. Make your voice heard!
The Devil: don’t attach yourself to anything that seems like a drag. Keep your options open. Be naughty but don’t go too far to the dark side.
Scorpio: A magical year awaits you, dear Scorpio! With fortuitous Jupiter in your sign, this is the year of YOU. You can improve any area of your life that you wish now. Deep inside you’ll know that, which means your mood should be chipper and bright. This is a year with lots of optimism and reasons to be happy. You’ve got the Universe on your side – you can manifest many of your biggest wishes. Life will improve and your environment will get better as the year progresses. One thing to watch out for: this transit can bring a bigger waistline. You’ll want to keep your indulgences in check or you’ll end up needing new pants before the year closes. Stern Saturn is hanging out in your 3rd house of mind, which is interesting. Here’s why: Jupiter in your sign produces a cheerful vibe, but Saturn tends to be a bit more reserved. This could produce swings between positivity and pessimism. Watch out for that tendency – seek balance when you find yourself heading to the dark side. Of course, Saturn here isn’t all gloom and doom. It’s superior for serious study or writing a book. If you want to be a scholar or an author, this transit is gonna give you the ambition to make it so. Unpredictable Uranus will enter your relationship sector on May 15th. This is considered the transit for “divorce,” but it doesn’t always mean that per se. If your relationship is troubled, the years ahead could indeed bring a break up. But if not, it can simply mean freedom in your relationship. For example, you and your partner may do your own thing. Or you may want to try an open relationship. In some cases, it may be that you live in different locations. This transit can also bring short-lived marriages or partnerships – which means you’ll want to avoid being impulsive when signing any contract, marriage or business. On the other hand, Uranus in the 7th can bring cool, eccentric people into your orbit. If you’ve always wanted to hang out with rock stars and artists, you’re in luck! Venus will turn retrograde in your sign from October 5th through November 16th, a period that could dredge up lots of problems in your love life. An icky, obsessive old flame may return or issues around possessiveness could kill your love-buzz. Deal with these situations swiftly so they don’t derail your romance. Start your money mindset mantras on November 7th, when Jupiter will move into your money sector. This begins a year-long auspicious period for financial gain. You’ll be getting a break and hitting it big. The odds are stacked in your financial favor – be ready to receive more of life’s goodies. You deserve it.
Ten of Wands – work hard, play hard. Ahead is the end of a long journey and a prize waiting for you. Keep at it. You’re almost there.
Sagittarius: With Jupiter lingering in your 12th house for much of the year, you may feel as if something big is happening or you may be starting the work behind the scenes on something truly fabulous. This is the right time for you to begin your top secret projects – you can launch them later in the year when Jupiter heads into your sign. But for most of 2018, it is better to work clandestinely, where no one can see what you’re up to. Jupiter in the 12th also marks a period where rest and introspection may be calling you. Take time away from the spotlight to focus on your healing. Chill out where you can. Look within often. Go on a retreat if you can. It’s all good for your soul. You’re also going to want to look under the financial hood this year, dear Sagittarius. Sober Saturn has moved into your 2nd house of money, which means the next two years demand strong structures if you want to avoid problems with your cash flow. I know you hate that word “budget,” but if you embrace the B word, you’ll end up a lot richer in the long run. Keep your debts as low as possible, and focus on building your savings. Saturn in the 2nd house can make you poorer or smarter with money – it’s totally up to you how this will play out. Your work world is about to go through a radical change come May 15th, when erratic Uranus jumps into your 6th house. Your routines could experience a shake-up or you may begin working in a new, unusual career. Technological innovations could play an important role in your work environment (location independent) or you may find yourself interested in astrology or other occult pursuits. Keep in mind that this transit may bring unpredictability with the job market – for some Sagittarius folks, this could mean unstable employment or a sudden loss of job. Because the 6th house also rules health, you may be interested in the latest diet fads. That raw fruitarian all-smoothie thing may be your new habit. Alternative health methods or mind-body-spirit therapies may also interest you. Mark November 8th on your calendar. This is when Jupiter finally lands in your sign, opening you up to all sorts of amazing new opportunities. It’s almost like a coming out party where all eyes are on you and the world is your oyster. It hasn’t been here in over a decade! The year that follows could find your world expanding in exciting new ways. And that hush-hush thing you’ve been working on? It doesn’t need to be a secret any longer. Debut that thing and watch your fans line up.
Queen of Cups: get in touch with your feelings. Trust your gut in all matters. Your feelings don’t lie.
Capricorn: This is a hardworking period for you, dear Capricorn. With your ruler in your sign for the next few years, you are going to get a lot of things done. You’ve got natural executive ability, and this is the time where everyone is going to see it. Your discipline is on point, giving you the edge over those other suckas. Don’t worry about coming off too serious. BE serious. It will increase other people’s trust in you. Sometimes you may feel a bit overwhelmed with the responsibilities placed on you, but don’t let that get you down too long. Keep your nose to the grindstone, and trust that progress is happening, even if you cannot see it. This period is also good for taking better care of your body. If you’ve neglected your health, now is the time to start that regime once and for all. If you apply discipline to your physical body, you could see a significant improvement in your well-being. One area where you’ll be blessed is your circle of friends. With Jupiter gracing your 11th house for most of the year, you might be enjoying a lot more fun with your friends. It’s also possible that you may be moving in new groups, expanding your social life in exciting new directions. Friends will be extra-supportive during this time. You can lean on them – your squad will have your back. This transit may also bring one of your goals to fruition. Even though Saturn is making you work your ass off, Jupiter in the 11th increases your chances for achievement! Uranus stirs the romantic pot starting May 15th, when it moves into your true love zone. This could bring unconventional love partners or lots of casual affairs. Romantic opportunities may come and go out of the blue. On a negative note, this transit may also bring unstable romantic partners or unplanned pregnancies! Do NOT be impulsive or you could end up with a bun in the oven or a bum on your couch! November 8th puts Jupiter in your 12th house of rest. This begins a yearlong self-improvement period where you can clear away limiting beliefs, negative energy, and old hang ups once and for all. Spiritual retreats and meditation may be attractive to you during this time. You can also begin to work on top secret projects. Get cracking on that big thang you’ve been dreaming about for ages but keep it on the down low. In 2019, you can reveal that shizz to the world.
The Lovers: let love rule in all you do. Romance is high, and cooperation will save the day. Temptation is around you. Watch out for snakes!
Aquarius: This year promises to be interesting on many levels, dear Aquarius. For one, Jupiter is hanging out in your 10th house of honors and recognition, which means you may be getting sweet applause for all your hard work and some killer opportunities that could push your career to new, dizzying heights. Advancement is possible – grab that brass ring and climb! Seek favors from authority figures – they are more likely to want to help advance your agenda. Just make sure you don’t pull any power plays because Jupiter can bring a downfall if you’re too thirsty for power. At the same time that this goodness is going on, hard-working Saturn is hanging low in your 12th house of seclusion. Here, Saturn forces you to work out all your inner shit. This is the right time to confront your hang-ups and habits. Seek therapy if necessary. This period, which lasts about two years, will give you the power to overcome all the things that contribute to your undoing. It’s like paying off a karmic debt. By the time Saturn leaves this house, you’ll be renewed and stronger than ever if you did the inner work. See how this is playing out? Jupiter wants to expand your presence to the world’s applause, but Saturn is demanding that you do the dirty inner work behind the scenes. On February 15th, a Solar Eclipse in your sign paves the way for a whole new you to emerge. You can reinvent yourself at this time with a new look or a rebrand (note to Aquarian son: get rid of those trucker hats). What’s important is that you present your authentic self to the world now. Don’t hold back! May 15th finds your ruler, Uranus, moving into your 4th house. Uranus in the domestic sector brings the desire for freedom in home and family. You want to do your own thing, rebel. Some of your loved ones may not appreciate you marching to the beat of your own drummer. That’s not your problem. Do you, boo. This is also a strong transit for home renovations. Update your decor, tear up the rugs, plant a wildflower garden. Most importantly, make your home your own even if that means painting the outside Pepto-Bismol pink. Mars will be retrograde in your sign from June 28th through August 27th. This transit could bring out your unpredictable, prickly side. Watch your temper and impulses now or you could turn people off. While there’s nothing wrong with being a rebel, you still need to practice good manners. During this period, there will be another eclipse in your sign – on July 27th, a Lunar Eclipse may find you wanting to break free in some area of your life. This could be a day where you decide to end a friendship or head off on some personal mission. On November 8th, Jupiter will enter your 11th house of social activities. This is going to make you one happy puppy, for it’s going to expand your favorite thing: your circle of friends. The year ahead could bring about some intriguing new playmates or lots of opportunities to kick it with your homies. If you like 2018, just wait – 2019 is shaping up to be your jam.
Three of Wands: the world is wide and beautiful. Opportunities are there for you. Don’t hold back. Get out, and make it happen!
Pisces: If you’ve always wanted to see the world, you’re in luck, dear Pisces. Generous Jupiter is seated in your 9th house, perfect for all sorts of travel ’n adventures. Opportunities to jet to places you’ve never been will arise. Those trips could expand your world in meaningful ways. You may also be interested in other cultures or philosophies. Broaden your outlook by learning how others operate in different parts of the world. It will do you good. You can also benefit this year from higher education. Back to school? Why not? Satiate that intellectual curiosity, and you may gather a new skill that could pay off later on. Friendships could be a bit tricky this year. With Saturn in your 11th house, you might just find yourself questioning your social circle. Pals that once lit you up may drag you down or you might feel like you no longer “fit in” with your crew. This could be a time where you feel lonely too. If you’re not getting a lot of invites, it may be time to seek a new posse – or to enjoy some time to yourself. Being alone isn’t always a bad thing. In some ways, it’s better than hanging out with people who don’t add anything positive to your life. Put the energy vamps on the chopping block, and you’ll be glad you did. It’s also possible that you could become responsible for a friend during this period. If a buddy falls on hard times, they may come calling. Be ready to lend a hand where you can. You’re extra-brilliant when May 15th rolls around and brainy Uranus lands squarely in your 3rd house of mind. This is genius level stuff, pardner. The next few years will find you at your intellectual best with innovative ideas, uncanny intuitive insights, and loads of intellectual curiosity. Your thinking is super original at this time – you may just create that new-fangled invention that will have everyone talking. You’re also more interested in the future, which means you’re less likely to spend your time looking backwards. Instead, you are open to what the future may bring. This is also a strong time for self-expression. Don’t worry about coming off as the local weirdo. Embrace your strange, and let your freak flag fly high! On November 8th, Jupiter will coast into your 10th house of career, where it will happily sit for about a year. Jupiter in the 10th brings opportunities galore and plenty of applause. Those cool ideas you’re cooking up may finally get you the street cred you’ve been craving. 2019 is your star turn – step into the spotlight and be you. We’ve been waiting for your arrival.
Strength: you’ve got the power to overcome whatever challenges you face. Believe in yourself as much as everyone believes in you.
