When I was a child, the holidays were noisy. I come from a family of extroverts and loud talkers, so it’s always been far too much for my introverted soul.
I’ve been paring down the holidays since my parents passed away (much to my brother’s chagrin). This year’s pandemic is making my Thanksgiving teeny-tiny. My children are doing something separate just to be on the safe side. Heck, we may have to Zoom it in. Do I mind? Well, I’ll miss cooking for the kids…but I’m kinda digging the thought of an anti-turkey-leftover week ahead. Frankly, I might not make a thing!
So what about you? Are you hosting the usual feast this year? Socially-distancing? Or not much at all like me?
Maybe next year we’ll have this virus under control and who knows…maybe, just maybe, I’ll be craving a major shindig with all the noise and leftovers (probably not). Have a safe and happy holiday, friends!
