The Hit List - When your tarot deck has an attitude problem

Have you ever purchased a tarot deck that you love but doesn’t seem to love you back? For example, no matter how much you read with it, it never seems to land right. Or you only seem to get the nasty cards, even when you shuffle like a madwoman. It might be you…or maybe your tarot deck has an attitude problem

I’ve had a few tarot decks that didn’t want to play nice. I’d spend plenty of time with it, shuffling, cleansing, all the usual moves that coax the cards – but to no avail. The deck wouldn’t budge, and every reading fell flat. It didn’t matter if I liked the art…the deck didn’t like me. Those decks were relegated to the bottom of a drawer. Sometimes I would pull them out to see if there was an attitude adjustment. Nope. Back in the drawer!

My biggest hater has been Lenormand. (Lenormand is not a tarot deck, by the way.) I’m attracted to these little cards, but they are not interested in me. I’ve never had an accurate or positive reading, no matter which variation of the cards I’ve come across. The few times I’ve had consultations with Lenormand readers never worked out. Like a bad Scrabble game, I only seemed to get cards like Coffin and Mice.

Fortunately, those doom ’n gloom outcomes never worked out. I’ve since come to the conclusion that whatever Lenormand tells me will be the opposite! It’s like a shitty girlfriend who tells you that your pants look great because she wants you to go out looking like a creep. Don’t believe her!

Recently, I have acquired a few new Lenormand decks. Why do I keep getting them when they don’t like me? Who knows? I think a small part of me wants to win this deck over, or maybe I just want to bend it to my will. Either way, I’m not giving up!
