The Hit List - Reassurance during hard times

I’ve had a lot of folks reaching out to me in the past few months. The world has gone bananas, so that is no surprise. Whenever there is a tragedy or unsettling event, I find more people want to connect with me. Mostly, it’s for reassurance. Other times, they are looking for a guarantee.

A guarantee that everything will work out…for them.

Frankly, that’s been a tall order that I’ve been unable to fill. I cannot give folks the okay to go on business as usual when nothing is usual. The guardrails are off, the planets are rooting for revolution, and safety nets are being ripped apart right before our eyes. There is a collective feeling of fear, anxiety, anger, and helplessness.

In times like this, tarot or astrology may seem like a security blanket, but it doesn’t quite work out that way. Sometimes, it’s Tower cards all the way down. When that happens, no amount of spiritual bypassing will make the pain go away. We have to face the shadow head-on.

And therein lies the wisdom. Yes, it sucks. No, there is no guarantee that it will be fine. So it’s time to look the trouble in the eye and ask, “What can I do?” rather than play passive, waiting for Superman. We have to be our own hero. We have to be heroes for the vulnerable. It’s time put on the cape and get to saving democracy.

At the end of the day, when the dust settles, the actions that good people take or don’t take determine the outcome. While that may not seem reassuring or comforting, it’s powerfu stuff. There is still time to steer the future in the right direction.

You are the future and you can create a just, equitable world if you are willing to do your part – and that is the only reassurance I can give you.

As tarot readers, we have a responsibility to handle these delicate topics professionally and compassionately.
