Because I’ve studied astrology for the past forty-something years, I know to watch the planets carefully. And because my astrological chart is loaded with six Mercury-ruled planets, I also know I need to pay attention when my old friend Mercury Retrograde comes knocking at the door.
I usually feel the arrival well before it happens. Most Mercury-ruled folks like myself say the same. I call it PMS – pre-Mercury shit.
So why am I surprised when my computer glitches around this time of year? Why am I cursing the GPS when I get lost on my way to an important meeting? Why do I let my anxiety run wild when people begin breaching my boundaries?
I know better.
I expect this.
But yet, I’m not immune to frustration when this time of year rolls around. I wish I could say I’m the model of calm, cool Mercury mindfulness. But alas, it’s a lie. And the one thing I know: if I’m not being completely transparent, the trickster planet has a way of exposing my trickery.
As I eye the impending visit from my old friend Mercury Retrograde, I’m trying not to groan. Because the one thing I do know: he’s not staying long.
