If you’ve tried your best but have gotten rejected, laughed at, or shamed, don’t despair. And please, don’t waste your time or good efforts ruminating.
Instead, go where the love is.
If you’ve begged or groveled for someone’s attention, stop that today. If they don’t want you, don’t be busy wanting that. Free yourself from needing anyone’s approval if they don’t want to give it.
Go where the love is.
If you’ve been “unfriended” “unfollowed” or “blocked”, stop obsessing over that right this minute. If they don’t want to hear what you have to say, why bother? They aren’t your tribe.
Go where the love is.
If your family of origin doesn’t “get” you, create a family that does. Invite people into your life who love you just as you are. No more wasted energy on people who don’t make you feel welcome.
Go where the love is.
If your circle of friends ices you out, ghost them. Find companions that want to be with you. This will liberate you.
Go where the love is.
If your boss walks all over you, look for something else. Seek work where you’ll be appreciated. Same rules apply if you’re self employed: if you reach out to an audience and they don’t want what you’re selling, find an audience that does.
Go where the love is.
When you put your energy towards love, you will thrive instead of just survive.
As the ever wise Nina Simone says:
“You’ve got to learn to leave the table
When love’s no longer being served”.”
Find work you love, spend your time with people you love (and who love you back), go to places where you are treated like the king or queen you are, and surround yourself with love.
And most of all, be love.
