The Hit List - Following my own astrology advice (or not)

The Moon and planets guide my every move. I follow the transits of the stars closely so I can be aware of what energy is operating. I’ve done this since I’ve been a teenager. Astrology never failed me…but I’ve failed it on many occasions.

Just this past week, I was warning folks about the Mars-Uranus square, a volatile aspect that opens up the possibility for anger, tantrums, and aggression. Now, most folks know me as a pretty calm person. What they don’t know is my red-hot temper simmers under the surface like a mighty volcano. It rarely erupts these days, but I’m always aware of the possibility.

Welp that happened this week. I went ballistic over an unexpected situation that derailed my plans and put me behind on a deadline (never, ever disrupt the plans of a Mars in Virgo person). I have not popped off like this since the “bread pan incident” (don’t ask). A flurry of devastatingly mean words followed (Gemini style) before I calmed the hell down and put my common sense hat on.

And then, I felt ashamed.

Ashamed for my vile outburst, ashamed for the way I stormed around like a mad woman, and ashamed for not following along with the planetary vibes. I should have known this week was going to be a test. Yet, I allowed myself to flunk out.

But here’s the thing: the cosmos is bigger than me, and sometimes the issues seem to be too. It’s humbling to realize I can’t control the universe, other people…or my own stupid temper.

So now that the energy is lifting and my situation is back on track, I am still gazing at the stars, but not forgetting that I’m only human and doing the best I can. Sometimes that’s good enough, even if it doesn’t feel perfectly aligned.
