The Hit List - Dichotomies

Just because someone loves beautiful, luxurious things, don’t assume they are not spiritual.

Being truthful does not have to include bitchiness.

You absolutely can love more than one person (but that can get messy).

“Bad” people can do beautiful, generous things. (PS no one is all bad – or all good.)

Cats are independent and finicky but they will go to whomever has the most generous treat pocket.

You can be super ambitious and still care about others.

Getting old doesn’t mean you are out of date and being young doesn’t always equate to hipness.

The smartest people sometimes live the stupidest lives.

A beard hides a multitude of sins but that theory does not apply as well to women.

Poverty doesn’t make you noble and wealth does not make you snobby.

Good taste and low brow can exist in the same household. They often do.

People who proclaim to be “above it all” rarely are (which is why they have to shout out how humble they are).

Anger can be used constructively and joy can be use destructively.

You can be completely visible but still remain private.

The more I know, the less I know.

Good things can be fun but so can horrible things.

Intelligence does not guarantee success. Neither does hard work. Success can happen to lazy, stupid people too.

You can be ambivalent and passionate all at once.

There are mailmen who cannot deliver mail properly. (Attention: big pet peeve of mine.)

You can see and not see. At the same time.

As I often say, our cats rule the house with iron paws. Which is why there are no holiday decorations around here.
