Talkin' Tarot with Mary Nale

Talkin’ Tarot With is a monthly feature designed to introduce my readers to different tarot readers from our wonderfully diverse community! Each month, I’ll be asking various tarot readers 3 questions about their tarot philosophy and style, plus pointing you to their websites and blogs so that you can learn more about them! I like to hand pick tarot readers that I feel are talented and interesting.

Some tarot people are out there in a big way – you can’t miss them. Then there are the others…quietly working away and doing something great. That describes Mary Nale, the creator of the quarterly digital metaphysical magazine, Attune.

Mary’s popular magazine features voices from many people in the mystical community and covers a rainbow of topics including healing, paranormal, angels, and, of course, tarot! Her goal: to shine a light on more of the gifted teachers who make up the metaphysical world. She’s doing a lovely job at that.

She’s also expanded into radio and video! Attune now has a Blog Talk Radio show and a YouTube channel, which gives old fans new places to connect and creates alternate spaces to attract new faces. Mary says: “We welcome all who have like minds to join us and become part of the Attune Magazine Community.” She also shared that her dream is to “empower and enlighten by sharing content and information.” She’s doing both.

Attune magazine welcomes guest posters and considers all articles. This gives people who are newer to the community a platform to introduce their work. She’s also working on another bigger project which will feature author interviews with popular self-help and spiritual authors. Attune intends to be a bridge between established practitioners and the newbies.

And that’s the beauty behind her work: she’s creating a genuine and friendly community that makes everyone feel welcomed and heard.

Q: What is your philosophy about tarot reading?

Mary: My philosophy about tarot reading is that it’s a lifelong journey, a learning experience and always an adventure. For me, a tarot reading is a map that can show us how something may turn out if we stay the course. We should always remember that the future is not set in stone, a tarot reading can offer ideas of how we might make better choices. A tarot reading can be serious and it can also have a great sense of humor. If you want to learn more about yourself just pick up a tarot deck and the layers will start unfolding.

Q: How do you feel a client might get the most out of a reading with you?

Mary: To get the most from a reading with me I think you need to be open to dialogue. The more we talk about the clients challenge, the more I will see in the cards. This of course makes it difficult for me to set a time limit but for me the most important part is that I help the client feel empowered and give them some clarity about the challenge they’re facing.

Q: What is your best piece of advice for an aspiring tarot reader?

Mary: My best advice is to use a tarot journal, keep learning and practice as often as you can. Your journal will show your progress and help you to make all manner of connections…think of this as your trusted friend.
