Talkin’ Tarot With is a monthly feature designed to introduce my readers to different tarot readers from our wonderfully diverse community!  Each month, I’ll be asking various tarot readers 3 questions about their tarot philosophy and style, plus pointing you to their websites and blogs so that you can learn more about them!  I like to hand pick tarot readers that I feel are talented and interesting.

talkin' tarot with inbal meron

I love discovering young tarot talent.  Inbal Meron is a young tarotist, yogi, and Reiki master that you may want to discover too.

Inbal’s been intrigued with tarot ever since she first laid eyes on a deck at the tender age of twelve.  At eighteen, she got her own deck and she’s been shuffling cards since that day and hasn’t stopped.  She says that tarot has “taught her so much about herself, about others, and mostly about compassion.”   For her, tarot is a teacher and a wise companion.

Inbal describes herself as a “student of life” who is always learning. She’s dedicated to bringing bringing awareness, balance, love and healing into her life and to others. Tarot is her medium for doing just that.

In addition to reading and teaching tarot, Inbal is also a yoga teacher and certified Reiki master who specializes in therapeutics and restorative yoga.  Her tarot cards often make an appearance in her yoga classes and Reiki sessions, much to the delight of her clients and students.  If you are a social media fan, you’re in luck because she also shares her tarot wisdom and mindfulness lessons on Instagram.  At this time, Inbal is also busy behind the scenes creating online programs for her followers and fans.

Keep your eyes peeled on her world because the best is yet to come. (PS You’re welcome.)

Q:  What is your philosophy about tarot reading?

Inbal: Tarot is a tool for empowerment and illumination. The cards provide a gateway to deep insights, not only about ourselves and our inner world, but also about the world around us and how these two worlds integrate, influence and inform each other.

The symbols on the cards invoke a dialog; they’re designed to awaken our consciousness and we begin to see what influences us, what blocks us and what motivates us. As we become more aware of all these influences we can begin to interact with them and things start to move and shift.

We have the power to create the life that we desire. However, we don’t always have the clarity and insight to truly realize what we want and how to go about manifesting it. Through reading the tarot we can obtain a road map showing us where we are and where we’re heading and what steps to take to realize our potential. If we don’t like the cards that we see, that’s a solid sign that it’s time to make some major changes. We co-create our destiny and the power is in our hands.

Q: How do you feel a client might get the most out of a reading with you?

Inbal: I feel like a tarot reading is like every other experience in life, the key to really getting something good and juicy from it is to be fully present in it. There’s also a fine balance between being receptive and active. On one hand I feel like the more open and receptive a client is, the more they’ll get. However, it’s not only about being receptive and passive, I also encourage my clients to participate, to ask questions as they arise, the more specific the better,  to share what the symbols they see inspire in them. Many times during readings, I sense that my client has the answers they’re seeking for and what they need is support in getting the truth out and figuring out what to do from there.

Q:  What is your best piece of advice  for an aspiring tarot reader?

Inbal: I think that it’s very important to understand that reading tarot is something that anyone can do. However, it is a skill, an art and a life-long body of study. For most people it’s going to take a lot of patience and practice to really get comfortable and fluent with the cards, however, there’s also something really pure in a beginner’s mind.

Like everything in life, approach the Tarot knowing that there’s a balance between continuously learning and growing with the cards and also trusting what you see, feel, and know. Don’t get too attached to being right or wrong. Remember that ultimately we read the tarot from a sense of service and we all have wisdom, insight and advice to share. I guess to sum it up, I’d say – Believe in yourself because you’ve got something wonderful to share!
