Talkin’ Tarot With is a monthly feature designed to introduce my readers to different tarot readers from our wonderfully diverse community! Each month, I’ll be asking various tarot readers 3 questions about their tarot philosophy and style, plus pointing you to their websites and blogs so that you can learn more about them! I like to hand pick tarot readers that I feel are talented and interesting.
There is something about Angie Banicki. Our paths kept crossing in various places online which caught my attention. Synchronicity? Perhaps.
I’m one who pays attention to those weird little signs from the universe so naturally…I got curious. I began poking around in her world – and got smitten pretty fast.
Angie is like that cool girl who seems to have her fingers on the pulse of everything hip that’s happening. For example, she’s got a massive love of music and seems to know all the bands I’ve never heard of! Every month, she mails out her tarotscopes and each sign gets a theme song for the month. I read through the list and find myself thinking “where the heck did she find this?” Then I go and have a listen – and think to myself “damn…she’s on it!” Oh, and her tarot readings? Spot on!
She also offers tarot-inspired yoga classes. Which you know I’m all about that! (Note to self: move to Los Angeles. Now. Bring yoga pants + a tarot deck.)
On top of all this, she also works as a consultant for major brands in the entertainment space. She connects celebrities and brands – and yes, there is tarot involved! Angie is a triple tarot threat – in a very good way.
She has a degree in communications and spent many years working as a talent relations director for a luxury PR firm. Shortly before turning 30, she took a month-long sabbatical, traveling around and asking some of her fave people for travel advice. This experience became the base for her book: 30 Before 30: Traveling Under the Influence. Angie continued to do PR work until a Prada tarot deck landed in her lap in 2012. She hasn’t put a deck down since.

Q: What is your philosophy about tarot reading?
Angie: My philosophy with the tarot always goes to intention. I believe there is some understanding of the cards that can’t be intellectually or rationally explained – however the gift of interpreting them can be enhanced and esteemed when an intention is set. I go into every reading with the intention to help another. Please give guidance to help this person on their life path. Give us what they need to know!
Q: How do you feel a client might get the most out of a reading with you?
Angie: I think it’s as simple as being open and again having intention. When someone comes in wanting guidance and with intention – whether that be help me or what do i need to know in my relationship or tell me what i can do to advance in my career/life path. I believe they will hear and receive what they need to help get them there! Simple!
Q: What is your best piece of advice for an aspiring tarot reader?
Angie: Trust. Keep trusting. The times I trust, the deeper I go with the cards. You won’t always understand. You may question why something happened, why you read something wrong or couldn’t see it. But guess what, WE ARE ALL HUMAN BEINGS LIVING LIFE THE BEST WE CAN! Noone is perfect. All we can do is our best and keep learning. I think that’s probably good advice for any profession but I’ve relied on it so much more with this path because there is so much we still don’t fully know or understand about things outside the material world. We are all still learning!
