Talkin’ Tarot With is a monthly feature designed to introduce my readers to different tarot readers from our wonderfully diverse community! Each month, I’ll be asking various tarot readers three questions about their tarot philosophy and style, plus pointing you to their websites and blogs so that you can learn more about them! I like to hand pick tarot readers that I feel are talented and interesting.

Colorful hair, unicorns, and F-bombs with a big heart. Put that together in a blender and you get Andrew Barker, a talented psychic medium, tarot and angel card reader. Andrew is a bright light blazing his own trail in the metaphysical community. I love his energy and the beautiful way he shows up as authentically Andrew. He’s got a lot to offer too. Q: What is your philosophy about tarot reading?

Andrew: I believe the cards are direct mirrors for us to gaze into. They show us things that can sometimes be hidden from our view. I also believe they act like a GPS, telling us what the path looks like ahead and giving us a heads up about any detours we might need to make to get to where we want to go. You can either heed the message or plow ahead regardless of what the cards say, in which case you shouldn’t have wasted your money.

Tarot, for me, as been a way to tap into my connection with Universe and has opened the door for to work with Angels, Spirit Guides, Ascended Masters, and departed loved ones, and I think that that is their purpose, to help us connect to a higher level of ourselves and the help that we always have around us.

Q: How do you feel a client might get the most out of a reading with you?

Andrew: A client can get the most out of a reading with me by being 100% open to the guidance that comes through. I don’t filter it to make you feel better. I don’t sugar coat anything. I am here to help you by answering the questions you have, and I call it like I get it. I always try to give my client action steps in a reading to help them afterward, so be willing to do the work and show up for yourself!

Q: What is your best piece of advice for an aspiring Tarot reader?

Andrew: Don’t expect to make a million dollars overnight. While it could happen, it more than likely won’t. You have to really want to help people and want to see them succeed and be the best that they can be. If you get nervous at any point, focus on service and know that you are doing great work. When you do this, everything else will flow like a river!
