I am currently on the road and getting ready to teach another workshop in a few days. It’s a lot of work but also fun! Teaching tarot is something I never get sick of doing!
When I’m in traveling teacher mode, there are a few things I pack with me that keep me organized, healthy, and ready to roll:
Teacher’s Manual with my classes neatly printed out. Every class I teach goes in 3-ring binder. I also keep copies on Dropbox just in case.
Handouts. If my class requires handouts, I am sure to have copies with me. I also keep a copy on Dropbox just in case I need to print them out on the lfy.
A bell. When you want to bring a classroom to attention the easiest way is by ringing a bell. I have a portable bell that works great.
Giant sized tarot cards. This is my favorite teaching aid because they are easy to see even from the back of the room!
Regular sized tarot deck. For sample readings, this is easier to work with than the giant cards.
My copy of The Tarot Coloring Book. I have my fully decked out copy so I can show people different ways to work with it.
Pens.
Notebook.
Business cards. Always be networking!
Wipes. I carry sanitary wipes with me because I like to keep myself healthy on the road.
Laptop. I have a nice slim MacBook Air, which is easier on my back.
My presentations are stored in Keynote. I can access them with ease and use use my iPhone as a remote. SLICK.
Hairbrush and lipstick. Gotta stay cute on the road!
Bottled water. Staying hydrated is important.
All of this goodness is tucked into my sturdy Hello Kitty backpack that I’ve had for twenty years. I keep most of this packed so I’m ready to go at a moment’s notice. For a busy tarotpreneur, this is important.
That’s it. What about you? Do you have your materials ready to go if you’re called out of town to teach or speak? What things do you keep with you when you’re on the road?
If you don’t have a kit of your own, I highly recommend taking time to create one. Because being ready to roll feels a lot better than searching for gear and forgetting something.
Blessings,
Theresa
