- A four-hour workshop filled with tarot-inspired creative word smithing.
How this day rolls:
- We’ll start out with a short meditation and intention setting.
- From there, we’ll discuss tarot as a writing tool.
- You’ll learn some clever tarot exercises that you’ll want to use again and again. From plot lines to character development, these prompts will turn on your writer’s brain and get the words flowing.
- There will be time to write and share your work with your classmates.
- You’re also getting one-on-one expert guidance from Sarah and Theresa. We’ll help you dig into your imagination and find new ways to look at your work…and tarot.
When the class is finished, you’ll have a piece of writing and a new characters fleshed out. Awesome!

Theresa Reed (aka “The Tarot Lady”) has been a Tarot card reader and astrologer for 40 years. She’s the author of more than 8 best-selling and award-winning books, including The Tarot Coloring Book, Astrology For Real Life, and The Cards You’re Dealt, and the co-creator of two Tarot decks: Tarot for Kids and The Uncommon Tarot. She’s a featured writer for The Old Farmer’s Almanac, where she writes about moon phases, zodiac elements, astrocartography, and more. You’ve seen her featured in places like Nylon, InStyle, Refinery 29, The Huffington Post, Vogue, The Today Show, and more.
Sarah Selecky’s collection This Cake Is for the Party was a finalist for the Giller Prize and the Commonwealth Prize for Best First Book in Canada and the Caribbean and was longlisted for the Frank O’Connor International Short Story Award. If you cancel 7 days before the event, we will issue a full refund. There will be no refunds if you cancel less than a week before the event. You are welcome to give your seat to someone else in that case. Be sure to let us know who will be taking your place.
