Create a Tarot Lifeline
Pick a tarot card to represent each year of your life. (If you are 95 years old, that’s a whole lotta tarot!)
Think back. Reflect before making your choice. What can you recall about that year? What trials or triumphs did you face? What was going on in your life? What was happening with your family? Which milestones did you reach?
You may find certain cards come up again and again. What lessons seem to be repeating?
Using myself as an example:
For birth and the first year, most of us would probably choose The Sun or Judgement but I chose the Hanged Man reversed. Reason why? I came into the world feet first. The Hanged Man is in the perfect position for birth – the head is down and crowning. Turn it upside down and the energy shifts into a challenging sacrifice. (My poor mother said that not only was my birth the most difficult among the other three, I was also the biggest baby in the bunch! Ouch.)
At 17, I finished school early and left home, never to look back. This was my Fool moment, out into the world with hardly any possessions and ready to learn. The hard way, I might add.
At age 22, I met my future husband. We didn’t connect as a couple for five years but that initial spark of recognition was pure High Priestess energy. I knew something was up.
At 41, my mother passed away and I was suddenly the main caretaker for my 90 year old father. This was a 10 of Wands period that stretched into almost four long years. I was also working incredibly hard on my career. (Yes, a card may also last for an extended period in some cases.)
See how this works?
Think of it as a tarot soundtrack for every year of your life.
So what about you? What cards show up again and again? Which card represents you now?
Play around with this and you’ll deepen your understanding of the cards and your life.
Blessings!
Theresa
