Paul Quinn, author of "Tarot For Life"

Today started off extra early with a breakfast roundtable with tarot author, Paul Quinn.  He spoke to a packed room about dealing with draining clients and how to protect your energy.  Paul had great solutions for this common issue and the crowd also offered their suggestions, making this a very interactive session!  I wish he would have had more time to talk!

But we had to get ourselves in gear for our next Master Class with Robert Place.  My husband is a huge fan of his work so I was excited to attend this workshop and learn more about him.  Robert is a intelligent man and it shines through in his lectures.  He taught us a spread based on the chakra system. I was seated with awesome tablemates – tarot authors and fabulously talented readers Corrine Kenner and Barbara Moore.  They are so witty and insightful – it is humbling to practice tarot with such gifted readers!  I will admit that I am highly ADHD and found myself getting rather restless during his class.  Either the information was way over my head (odd since I work so much with chakras as a yoga teacher) or I am simply not deep enough for what he was teaching!  LOL  I’m going to have to play around with his system at home and see if I can grasp this lesson better.

After the class, I trekked off solo to the Dominican restaurant for a buffet.  It did not disappoint – sweet plantains, spicy red beans, rice and other yummy treats satisfied my appetite and got my brain ready for the next session.

The final class today was with world famous tarot author and scholar, Mary Greer.  The class started out rather chaotic as we divided into groups of 5 for the exercises.  Not sure if old Mercury retrograde was interfering or if she was simply not as methodical as I am but initially, my group and I were a little lost in the beginning.  Finally, things started falling into place and we found our groove as a group.  The class was really interactive and fast moving.  Now this worked well with my Gemini brain!  Being paired with such dynamic people helped too and this was a highlight of the conference.  I got a lot out of this workshop and was pleasantly surprised.

After class we were ready for the banquet, which was quite delicious.  I was seated with the host of Beyond Worlds, Donnaleigh De la Rose (if you are not listening to her Blog Talk Radio show, you NEED to tune in – she is a wonderful host and has great guests plus fab co-hosts, Storm Cestavani and Veronica!).  We had a spirited conversation and I have to tell you that Donnaleigh is one of the warmest, most beautiful souls you could ever meet!  I was so happy I got to sit next to her!

The dinner was a lot of fun and everyone seemed to be relaxed yet energized from the conference.  Tomorrow we’ll be closing up shop and I’ll be heading home to 2 needy cats and a hungry husband.  It’s wonderful to be away from it all and immersed in nothing but tarot for days but it is time for me to begin packing and preparing to return to my “normal” life.

Blessings!

Theresa
