Common (Sixth) Sense is a regular feature devoted to practical uses of intuition. Making intuition simplistic for everyday mystics.
Ever go into a thrift store and get drained after a few minutes of trying on some cool retro duds?
How about this: you put on someone else’s jewelry and instantly get a warm and loving sensation?
Does touching things make you touchy? In other words, do you sense emotions and more through your sense of touch?
Inanimate objects can give off a “vibe”. Psychometry is the art of picking up psychic energy and receiving information by touching an item.
While that may sound strange, consider this: everything is made out of energy. Just as we absorb information and emotions, our belongings can too.
Which is why you may notice that a sentimental trinket “feels” loving whereas a dinner cooked in anger may make you physically sick.
When you are handling objects, pay attention to the vibe it carries. Bring awareness to your own surroundings and personal property as well. What energy are you putting into your stuff? What type of mental vibe are you holding as you complete tasks? What sensations do you feel in different settings or with other people’s belongings? What is your intuition telling you?
Try these experiments:
Notice how you feel when you wear a beloved piece of jewelry.
Go to a major market or busy office. What do you sense when you spend time in a chaotic environment?
Visit an antique store and notice what you pick up on when you sit on old furniture. What do you perceive about the previous owner? Can you verify your impressions? (For the record, I can only spend short periods in antique stores as I usually get dizzy from that energy.)
The more you start to pay attention to how things make you feel, the easier it gets to ascertain what or whom is behind that vibration.
Become more acquainted to the pulse of objects – your own and others. Remain curious and open. You may be surprised at what you notice.
Blessings!

PS If you are super sensitive to energy, I highly recommend that you keep “low energy” things out of your home. That means anything with a bad memory attached to it: that vase from your cruel Aunt Martha, the old letters from the one who broke your heart, etc. The less negative vibe stuff around you, the better.
