So you’ve started a tarot business and it’s clipping along nicely.
In fact, you’ve built a solid clientele of raving fans and you’re making a decent living.
It may be tempting to rest there. And maybe you do just that for a bit.
You get nice ‘n comfy. Too comfy. (Truth: comfy gets stagnant real quick.)
One day, you realize that you’re ready to grow. But how? You’ve done all the right things. How can you expand your tarot business and bump it up a notch?
Here are some easy ‘n fun suggestions when you are ready to spread those tarot wings even further:
- Partner up with your peers. There is strength in numbers! Creating classes, events or even guest posting with your colleagues is a smart way to get your face to new audiences. (Plus, supporting your community is a win/win for all!)
- Market in new places. Try a Facebook ad. Or put an ad in an online magazine or forum. In your local area? Seek out new fairs and spaces to read. Try a new social media platform. Go where you’ve never gone before.
- Teach. Whether you are offering classes online or in person, teaching is a fantastic way to expand your reach and help to establish your presence as a leader.
- Seek out a mentor or coach. A good business strategist can look under the hood of your tarot biz and help you to find new avenues for growth – or weak spots that need fixing.
- Take some business classes in the areas where you need polishing. A branding class or writing workshop may help you move from good to great. (I take business classes all the time.)
- Attend a tarot conference. A tarot conference is the perfect place to network with your peers plus grow your tarot skills. Hell yeah!
- Get outside your regular grind. For example, if you only read in person, start trying email readings. Only do email readings? Read at a charity event. Mix it up!
- Ask for referrals. You have people right at your fingertips who can spread the word. Reach out to your network and ask them to pass on your name. Most clients and friends are more than happy to do referrals!
- Come up with new far-out ideas. Sure, you can do what you’ve always done – or what everyone else is doing but that’s the path to so-what. Shake things up. Do the unexpected. Be bold. Get people talking. For example, create a Tarot Dance Party. Write an e-book about how you used tarot as inspiration for decorating your home. Do a class on how to design the perfect tarot site. Let your creativity soar!
- When you’re really ready to invest, get a good PR agent. This will accelerate your business growth faster than a rocket. A good public relations agent will help you to find some sweet publicity and get your name on everyone’s lips. (Read this before you hire one.)
These are only a few suggestions but if you take one or two, you are creating energy for some real, tangible growth. So what are you waiting for? Get outta that comfort zone and grow, grow, GROW!
