Tarot Advice - Guidance in Every Card: Five of Swords

This week: Five of Swords

This card is often associated with a victory through deceit. As advice, this may say: watch your back. Betrayal is possible.

But it can also advise to use honesty to achieve your goals. If you’re doing something shady, it’s not too late to turn things around.

In some cases, the Five of Swords can advise to use craftiness if you wish to score a victory. Examine your options, take charge and be strategic.

This card can also say: start a conflict. A conflict may be necessary. Take the upper hand and don’t be afraid to stir the pot.

Be assertive! A competitive mindset is needed. Take a stand and/or take over.

Five of Swords reversed:

Step away from the conflict. It’s not worth it.

Don’t be a sore loser. If you lost the battle, accept that loss with grace.

Do you need to be the winner every time? You don’t need to be right all the time.

I often see this card as “all lies come out into the open” – as advice, this says: bring the truth out. Speak your truth. Don’t hold back. Drop your guard and be vulnerable.

Questions to ponder:

What does it mean to be honest? Have you ever been betrayed? If so, how did you handle it? What is your initial reaction when someone has been deceptive?

Blessings,

Theresa
