Why am I working so hard and still not seeing results? And why is she doing so well when we are both doing the same thing?

What’s she got that I ain’t got?

I’ve been asked this question in various forms from more than one frustrated entrepreneur.

They follow all the templates, engage strongly on social media, work like dogs…yet they see only incremental gains while other peers seem to be killing it with huge fanbases on social media, interviews galore all over the interwebs and claims of “six figures.”

Why do some people seem to work really hard and get barely a blip on the radar when others seem to be making it big?

That’s a conundrum that can’t be boiled down to one factor (talent, biz smarts, knowing the right people, long history, gimmick, signature program, etc., etc.) Sometimes it’s just the luck of the draw.

Here’s the thing: if you find yourself feeling low because your numbers aren’t high or that other peer is getting all of the accolades and attention, you need to stop right there.

Playing the comparison game is one game where you will always lose.

Because even if it seems like they are doing better than you, know this:
– A lot of likes and a big list doesn’t guarantee that this person is doing well.
– Anyone can claim anything on the web. How do you know those six figures are true?
– The biggie: feeling envious around someone else’s success leaves no room for your own.

Take your eyes off their work and put your efforts into just doing your work as best as you can. Stop worrying about attention that someone else seems to be getting. Serve the people who are giving your business attention – your clients. Take good care of them.

While you’re at it, why not cheer on your peers? Celebrating their successes creates a much better vibe for your community…and your business.

Do that and you’ll have a business that makes you and your clients feel good – and attracts all that you need. And that’s rich.

Blessings,
Theresa
