Typewriter QUESTION MARKS

This month, I’m answering some of your biggest, gnarliest (and most common) questions about tarot.

Today’s question: does the Death card mean physical death?

The one tarot card that seems to provoke the most fear is the Death card.  Perhaps this is because it is often portrayed in the movies as an omen of danger or an impending funeral.

Although the imagery is often creepy, the Death card is usually interpreted as “transformation” or change.  It is seen as a sign that something is coming to an end to prepare for new growth.

As far as predicting physical death, the Death card by itself does not mean your number is up.  So if this card shows up in your reading, don’t assume that the end is near!  Instead, think of how you might want to welcome a change into your life.

I’d also like to add that seeing a physical death in a tarot reading is actually quite difficult and rare.  Often, it won’t even show up in the cards – and most readers don’t want to go there anyways.

Blessings!
